Edoardo Bovet has posted his first message to worried fans since collapsing on the pitch two weeks ago.
In a post on Instagram, Bove addressed his health status and shared an update on his future.
“Hello everyone, these difficult times have given me a chance to think about a lot.
It’s not my personality to share on social media, but I’d like to express some thoughts that impressed me.
The unpleasant incident at Fiorentina-Inter showed us much more than we thought that football is more than matches, championships and careers.
Football is a community where people connected by the same passion share moments of joy, emotion, anger, disappointment and pain.
It is in these moments that I realize how true this sport is and how we are all united beyond results, rivalries or rivalries.
Bonds, once formed, are strengthened in difficult moments and become almost insoluble.
A bond that conveys love and emotions that are difficult to explain.
It is a bond that gives you the strength to overcome any obstacle.
I am saying this because I experienced it myself these days. The affection I received, the warmth of the fans, the support of my teammates and opponents, and the closeness of the entire football community made it all possible. I have incredible strength and courage.
I felt surrounded by positive energy that helped me stay calm and not feel the loneliness that often comes with these kinds of challenges.
For this reason, I hope that we all commit to never forgetting the true essence of our sport, not being obscured by the commercial aspects of our sport, and never taking for granted the true spirit of our sport.
Because despite everything, what happened on Sunday is a testament to the real part of football: the real emotions, the personal stories, the part that fosters strong bonds between those who play and those who support them.
That said, I am truly grateful to be a part of this world, and I truly appreciate the affection and intimacy you have shown me!
I am fine and this is the most important thing!
See you soon… “At the stadium!”
