Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) made clear what Trump’s return to the White House would mean for women and families.
This week on ABC:
RADDATZ: Tomorrow marks two years since the Dobbs decision. Since that ruling, 21 states now ban or restrict abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy under the standards set by Roe.
Will this really change if Joe Biden is re-elected?
WARREN: Yes, it will change.
We need three things: We need access to abortion. We need access to contraception and IVF.
Republicans blocked all three. They planned to not allow women to have these three things and to not have access to them.
The Democratic Party is fully engaged. If we had three – the House of Representatives, the Senate and the White House – we would have Roe v. Wade in the land again. And with Joe Biden as president rather than Donald Trump, we will have as many protections for women as humanly possible.
Understand this – and I want to make it as clear as possible – if Donald Trump is elected president, he and the extremist Republicans will have abortion, birth control, and IVF in every state in this country. It’s not just red states.

Senator Warren was right. Democrats are all in, and if they had full control of the federal government, they would make Roe the law of the land while protecting contraception and IVF. Just as there has been no doubt about what Trump will do if he returns to the White House, there is no doubt about what he will do if the Democrats win.
I expect Democrats will continue to emphasize this message. Because this message not only resonates with female voters, but is also vitally important to young voters.
The far right wants to ban abortion, birth control, and in vitro fertilization (IVF), and the more voters understand this, the better the results will be for Democrats in November.
