World number seven doubles star Ellen Perez is one of five Australian players scheduled to compete on Day 10 of Roland Garros 2024.

Paris, France, June 4, 2024 | Lee Rogers

Ellen Perez has a lot to do on Day 10 of Roland Garros 2024.

The 28-year-old from New South Wales is hoping to become the first Australian to reach back-to-back women’s doubles quarter-finals in Paris since Casey Delacqua in 2015.

Perez and her American partner Nicole Melichar-Martinez’s chances of remaining in the top 10 will increase if they beat No. 16 seeds Miyu Kato of Japan and Nadiya Kichenok of Ukraine in the third round.

Perez and Melichar-Martinez, currently tied for seventh, must remain in the top 10 until the end of the tournament to guarantee selection for the upcoming Olympic Games.

The top ten players at the end of Roland Garros will not only receive automatic Olympic selection, but will also receive the privilege of choosing their own doubles partner for the event.

Perez also earned the opportunity to reach his first Grand Slam mixed doubles semifinal.

The top-seeded duo, along with compatriot Matt Ebden, face Australian Open champions World No. 1 Hsieh Su-wei and World No. 29 Jan Zielinski in today’s mixed doubles quarter-finals.

Three Australian juniors also featured in the Day 10 line-up in Paris. This includes world number eight Hayden Jones, the last remaining Australian player in men’s singles competition.

Roland Garros will be broadcast live in Australia on Nine Network and Stan Sport, broadcasting from 6.30pm AEST.
