Erik ten Hag’s three new assistant coaches arrive at Carrington on first day of pre-season – Man Utd news and transfer news

Manchester United welcomed three new managers to Carrington this morning as the club began their first day of pre-season training.

The Red Devils have had a busy summer so far, completing dual deals for Dutch duo Mathis de Ligt and Yoshua Zirkzee.

The Dutch summer campaign continues with Erik Ten Hag’s contract extension and reports that United are looking to bring in three new managers to assist the former Ajax boss.

Ruud van Nistelrooy and René Haake were spotted entering Carrington in the same car.

Although neither has their visas approved yet, they are not yet able to officially begin work, once the legal issues are resolved, everything else is ready for the coaches to get to work.

Van Nistelrooy was expected to become Burnley manager but despite his previous experience as PSV Eindhoven manager, he is convinced that becoming United’s head coach is the right direction for his career.

The prospect of working alongside a former lethal striker is reportedly one of the factors that convinced Zirkzee that a move to United was the right career path for him.

Fans will also be hoping that Rasmus Høylund and Ethan Whitley can benefit greatly from the former striker’s wealth of knowledge of how to score.

Hake’s experience as head coach includes guiding the Go Ahead Eagles to a ninth-place finish in the Eredivisie last season.

The 52-year-old has already expressed his delight at joining the club and described the opportunity to work at a club like United as a “great reward” for his hard work.

The last new recruit to join the training ground was new goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Louvelaar.

The former Burnley man had previously agreed a deal to join Ajax, but United paid a compensation fee to the Eredivisie club to pry the talented manager away from the Dutch giants.

He is regarded as an expert in coaching goalkeepers and defenders to become better on the ball, so fans will be delighted to see Andre Onana get the chance to work with him.

United fans will feel a warm sense of nostalgia at the prospect of seeing legendary striker Van Nistelrooy back at Old Trafford, while others will be curious to see what lesser-known striker Hake can do for the Red Devils.
