A recent comment from Sheryl Swoopes to Caitlin Clark reads: “queen of the court” On her podcast with Jordan Robinson, the Fever guard argued that she is not as deserving of the WNBA Rookie of the Year award as the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese, but added that Indiana will still be a playoff team even without Clark. What did ESPN’s Elle Duncan say about Cheryl Swoopes’ comments about Kaitlynn Clarke?
Elle Duncan had this to say about Cheryl Swoopes: “Someone in basketball got beat this week. I love her, but she was wrong here.”
Duncan didn’t dispute Swoopes’ position that Reese is a likely WNBA Rookie of the Year, but instead took issue with her explanation that the Fever are still a playoff team without Clarke.
“I just feel like there’s something there, and I don’t know what it is that doesn’t connect with Cheryl, and I’m like, why is that?” Duncan said.
“This doesn’t feel right at all. I’m starting to feel like Cheryl hates me.”
Co-host Gary Striowski agreed with Duncan, saying, “This fight is one-sided, Cheryl Swoopes vs. Kaitlyn Clarke. It’s crazy.”
