When the Houston Texans play a preseason game against the New York Giants at NRG Stadium on Saturday afternoon, they will be playing under a damaged roof.

The roof of NRG Stadium was damaged when Hurricane Beryl hit Houston, tearing off several panels and exposing sections.

Temperatures in Houston are expected to be near triple digits on Saturday. The roof will be closed, but without the panels, it will be difficult to cool down.

The roof is scheduled to be repaired in September, but in the meantime, fans and players will be exposed to the weather outside. NBC Sports reports.

“The study on him is ongoing and we’ll learn more as we go along,” Texas owner Cal McNair said at the start of training camp. Via Aaron Wilson of KPRC. “there is Multiple damaged panels. These are not on the local shelves at DIY Home Depot. They are a great store around here. They are special order, custom made, so it will take some time. I expect to get them about a month into the season.”

The heat will certainly play a role in how teams manage snaps in this game. Avoiding heatstroke is a top priority for NFL teams and it will be a challenge on Saturday.
