Senna is not the only Vettel icon who has long admired and eventually competed with Michael Schumacher. But the aforementioned “speak-out” of Toleman, Lotus, McLaren and Williams drivers and their willingness to be a beacon of hope for Brazil off the track is something he admires.

“Obviously I’m German, so growing up Michael was my hero and still is,” says Vettel. “I think what Ayrton represents is more than just racing. I think for Brazilians he is still a very powerful character and there are so many things we can be inspired by.
