Oscar Piastri won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix for the second time in his career after a thrilling race in Baku, beating out pole position favourites Charles Leclerc and George Russell.

Piastri made his second daring overtake in two races, this time a late lunge that caught Leclerc by surprise. He then had to produce a defensive masterclass to beat the Ferrari man, and there was plenty of drama to come.

Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz crashed on the penultimate lap, ending the race under VSC conditions, with Lando Norris up to fourth. Starting from 15th on the grid, the Briton put in a superb recovery drive.

He finished ahead of title contender Max Verstappen, who blamed his car set-up for his poor performance throughout the race.
