Ferrari’s F80 uses ‘boost optimization’ to give drivers more power where they need it.

Ferrari’s New F80 hypercar It can record the track you are driving on and will increase the driver’s speed at the appropriate time during the next lap. The “Boost Optimization” function reads the straight lines and curves of the circuit and provides more power to the hybrid system without any additional action from the driver, helping to achieve the best possible lap times.

In “Performance” mode, you can use boost optimization to get a consistent amount of power throughout your drive for as long as possible. Alternatively, you can select “Qualify” mode to maximize boost power at the appropriate time, at the expense of losses. Battery power is fast. Unlike Ferrari’s SF90 Stradale and 296 GTB, there is no fully electric driving mode.

The F80 is equipped with a 4WD powertrain and a rear V6 engine that produces 900 horsepower, and when combined with three electric motors, the maximum output reaches 1,200 horsepower. Ferrari says this makes the F80 “the most powerful road car ever.” The electric motor is the first motor to be fully developed and built by the car manufacturer, and is derived from the design of the MGU-K motor used in F1.

Two electric motors are placed on the front axle along with an inverter and integrated cooling system to enable torque vectoring and weight reduction. A DC-DC converter outputting 800, 48 and 12V helps reduce weight as the F80 does not require a separate 48V battery to power the active suspension and e-turbo system.

The F80 also features a “digital twin” side slip control system and an active aero feature that can increase downforce during cornering to maintain optimal balance.

Ferrari’s F80 will be produced in a limited edition of 799 units priced at over $3 million. roads and trackshas already been allocated to the current customer.
