The FIA European Historic Rally Championship is delighted to welcome aircraft rental specialist FlexiFly as an Official Partner of the Series.
Starting with this week’s Elba Storico Rally, which takes place on the Italian island from September 26th to 28th, FlexiFly will be taking advantage of the promotional opportunity offered by its official partnership with the FIA EHRC.
During each round of the FIA EHRC, registered crews will participate in an official photo call and receive a commemorative cap. Tailored digital content will also be produced highlighting the partnership between the FIA EHRC and FlexiFly.
Under the leadership of FIA EHRC stalwart Ernie Graham, FlexiFly has grown to become one of the UK’s leading private aircraft charter service providers. It is also a long-term supporter of the FIA EHRC, with participation in the FIA European Historic Rally Championship for Teams. James Potter became the 2024 FIA EHRC Category 1 provisional champion in a Ford Escort Twin Cam with the FlexiFly identity.
FIA Head of History Stuart Murray said: “The FIA European Historic Rally Championship is a fantastic event that celebrates some of the most incredible cars from the golden age of motorsport, made possible by the incredible passion and dedication of our competitors who still allow people to enjoy the sights and sounds of classic rallies. By partnering with FlexiFly, the FIA EHRC can further benefit from the support of a company whose loyalty and passion for the series and for historic rallying in general knows no bounds. By formalising this agreement, both parties can further capitalise on a number of communication opportunities that will help to strengthen the FIA EHRC and further expand its appeal.”
Commenting on the partnership between FIA EHRC and FlexiFly, FlexiFly Founder Ernie Graham said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with the FIA European Historic Rally Championship, a series that celebrates the passion and heritage of motorsport across Europe. This championship has enormous potential and we want to play our part in taking it to the next level. As one of the UK’s leading aircraft charter companies, we look forward to providing competitors and fans with flexible and reliable access to event venues. We are not just facilitating travel, we are also inspiring the excitement and spirit of competition that makes the FIA EHRC so special.”
Established as the ultimate celebration of rallying’s glorious past, the FIA EHRC is for iconic rally cars built before 1969 and homologated up until 1990. It is divided into four categories (1-4) based on the year of manufacture, and further subdivided into categories 2-4 to allow for different levels of car performance.
There are also separate awards for front-wheel drive and 1600cc vehicle competitors, and the responsibility is to provide an accessible platform for drivers with varying levels of experience and resources to compete at an international level.
The FIA EHRC took the coveted overall title this season as the FIA seeks to raise the profile and prestige of the FIA EHRC.
