FIA Rally Safety Training for Eastern European ASN Safety Delegations Held in Prague
22 rally safety representatives representing 10 FIA member clubs gathered in Prague, Czech Republic, from August 19th to 21st for a three-day rally operation safety training seminar.
Following the first practical seminar at the FIA Technical Centre Safety in Valery, France, in December last year, the FIA’s commitment to rally safety continued with another successful training session held in Prague from 19 to 21 August. This second practical event, supported by the FIA Foundation’s Motor Sport Safety Grant and hosted by the Czech Automobile Club ACCR, focused on strengthening rally safety practices and was organized for ASNs in the Eastern European region.
The training involved 22 trainees representing 10 member clubs across the region, taking part in a number of workshops and receiving expert advice and guidance from FIA WRC Deputy Safety Representative and Closed Road Commission Chairman Nicolas Klinger and FIA Operational Safety Director Clement Rothe.
One of the highlights of the training was the hands-on workshop on public roads, which allowed participants to develop a comprehensive safety document, which is essential to ensuring safety standards during rally events. The workshop was instrumental in providing participants with hands-on experience, allowing them to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
The training also served as a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences among participating ASNs. Trainees were encouraged to discuss their own safety-related challenges and solutions, creating a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement at rally events across the region.
The FIA will continue to conduct rally safety training sessions around the world to support ASNs in their efforts to promote safety and maintain the highest standards.
