With the January transfer window just a week away, the ongoing saga surrounding Roma’s Paulo Dybala’s future remains in the spotlight.

Despite Claudio Ranieri’s reassurances after Roma’s game against Parma that the Argentine star “wants to stay with us”, the attacker’s situation remains shrouded in mystery and several clubs are reportedly monitoring his situation.

In an unexpected twist, former Lazio midfielder Hernanes, who started his career in Sao Paulo and later returned there, has stepped in as an unofficial ambassador for Dybala, hoping to lure him to the Brazilian side.

Hernanes, who currently plays for ASD Sale in the Italian Prima Categoria league, said: Instagram Dybala shared his Christmas wishes with his wife Oriana in this post.

“Diva, Sao Paulo is your place. Come on, you will be happy! and Buon Natale,” Hernanes wrote. His comments sparked a wave of support from Brazilian fans, who flooded posts with similar messages.
