Former Manchester United striker Wout Berghorst has found himself at the centre of controversy after an altercation with Arsenal player Urien Timber during training with the Netherlands.
The pair almost became team-mates in 2022 after United showed strong interest in the Dutch defender, who eventually moved to Arsenal a year later.
Berghorst joined United on a surprise loan move from Burnley in January 2023 and went on to score two goals in 31 appearances for the Red Devils, but a permanent move to Old Trafford fell through.
The two players had a public spat during training ahead of tomorrow night’s thrilling Nations League clash between the Netherlands and Germany.
The video showed a standard training rondo from Timberwolves’ late arrival to Weghorst’s ankle grabbing as he held the ball.
The tall striker fell to the ground, his face grimacing in pain, while the Arsenal players watching the game made no attempt to apologise.
Moments later, the two were seen arguing fiercely, and Beghost left the training ground in a bad mood.

Daily Mail There were reports that Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman had to intervene to calm down both players.
But the 32-year-old couldn’t just let it go and team-mate Jan Paul van Hecke was pictured calming him down once again.
Eventually, Beghorst left the stadium and was seen riding his bicycle away from the scene of the accident while using his mobile phone.
Koeman confirmed the former United striker was not injured but will be hoping the incident does not spoil the positive mood of the 5-2 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which he scored his 13th goal for his country.
