Laurence Barreto says:
Given how integral Graeme Lowdon has been in building the project agreed in principle with Formula 1 to bring General Motors/Cadillac into the sport as an 11th team in 2026, it is no surprise that he has been announced as team principal.
Lowdon has been an advisor to the US project for the past two years, which already has more than 280 staff, including former Renault technical director Nick Chester and former Renault operations chief Rob White.
The 59-year-old has extensive motorsport experience, including as chairman and sporting director of the Formula 1 team that started as Virgin Racing in 2010.
