Former Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Daniel Muir and his wife were arrested Wednesday after their missing 14-year-old son was found safe, two weeks after police began investigating allegations of abuse.

Bryson Muir was found “safe and sound” when an Indiana State Police SWAT team raided the Muir family’s home in Logansport, north of Indianapolis, around 6 a.m. The police said.

His parents, Daniel and Christine Muir, were both arrested on suspicion of obstruction of justice.

Police said the teen’s father, a former defensive lineman, was charged with domestic assault.

Bryson, who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, has not been seen since June 16, after his grandmother, Cheryl Wright, reported to police that Bryson was being abused by his father.

The grandmother noticed a black puffiness under the teen’s eye and reported it to the police.

The boy was last seen that day by his mother driving him from his grandmother’s home in Cleveland, Ohio.

“His face was disfigured. When I brought him in he had a black eye and a burst lip.” Wright told FOX 59.

“His whole face was swollen. You can only imagine how many times he’s been hit in the face.”

Local police tracked Christine Muir’s car shortly after receiving the report, but the girl was nowhere to be found.

Investigators were looking into the theory that Bryson may have switched vehicles.

Police said they visited the Muir family home several times over the next few days but were unable to contact Bryson’s parents.

Authorities issued a “Silver Alert” last Friday after Muirs told police he would bring Bryson to Indianapolis State Police headquarters to meet with detectives and prove he was safe, but he canceled the appointment just an hour beforehand.

The raid came after the Muirs failed to appear in court on Tuesday after warrants were issued for their arrest.

Bryson’s grandmother has since claimed the teenager may have been “brainwashed” by his parents.

“Bryson had become so accustomed to their lifestyle, or brainwashed, that he wanted to go back,” Wright said.
