Cutdown Day in the NFL is always a tough time for players and organizations alike, with dozens of hard-working young men and veterans nearing the end of their careers being waived, cut, or released entirely.

Life changes forever.

However, this is an inevitable measure as the team must reduce its roster from 90 to 53 ahead of the regular season.

The New York Giants will face some difficult decisions of their own. Dakota Randall on Pro Football Network One player who is expected to hear bad news is believed to be 2021 third-round pick Aaron Robinson.

Aaron Robinson hasn’t had a significant role since being drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He also missed the entire 2023 season due to injury and is on New York’s roster bubble.

Robinson has been sidelined by injuries. He missed most of his rookie season after starting the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, underwent emergency appendectomy surgery in 2022, and then was placed on the season-ending disabled list with a partially torn ACL and MCL, missing the entire 2023 season.

Robinson appeared in 11 games (four starts) and recorded 32 tackles, one QB hit and four passes defensed.

The Giants are short on cornerbacks and will be hoping a healthy Robinson can solidify his spot or at least be good enough to beat out other cornerbacks.

Robinson is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and a salary cap cut would save the Giants about $1.36 million, bringing their salary cap to $275,144 (prior to June 1).
