Four New York Giants were selected to The Athletic’s All-Rookie Team.

The New York Giants’ 2024 season did not go as expected. Not only did it leave a lot to be desired, but the way losses were incurred and the way player personnel were managed was also ugly.

Nonetheless, the Giants had a pretty good draft last April and had four players selected. The Athletic’s All-Rookie Team.

Two players were named to the first team: wide receiver Malik Nabers and safety Tyler Nubin.

Two other players were named to the second team: Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. and cornerback Andru Phillips.

Finally, three players received honorable mention. Tight end Theo Johnson, defensive tackle Elijah Chatman (middraft) and linebacker Darius Muasau.

It is no surprise that Navers and Nubin were named to the first team. Nabers, selected sixth overall, ranked third among all receivers with 109 catches and seventh in receiving yards with 1,204 despite missing two games with a concussion. Despite missing four games this season, Nuveen led all rookie safeties in tackles with 98.

Tracy definitely surprised people this year by showing off her running back chops and taking the starting position. He had six carries of 20 yards or more, one more than Bijan Robinson, and he was one of two rookies to top 500 yards.

Phillips has been tremendous in the run game this season and has also performed well in coverage. Concerns about Phillips ahead of the draft were due to his lack of interceptions (0 in 38 games at Kentucky), but he caught his first NFL interception in Week 17 and those fears have now been put to rest.

All three of the Giants’ rookies who received honorable mention (Johnson, Chatman, and Muasau) have shown themselves to be solid draft picks through their play in 2024.

As the Giants continue their offseason routine, they should be proud to have these players as part of the team.
