Free press crumbles as CBS considers bribing Trump for lawsuits

MONews
3 Min Read

A few months ago, Donald Trump filed a frivolous lawsuit against CBS alleging that 60 Minutes edited an interview with Kamala Harris.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

Paramount Global executives have held internal discussions to resolve a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump over a CBS News interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, a sign of a larger effort to ease tensions with the incoming president, according to people familiar with the situation. do.

Paramount, which owns CBS’ eponymous studio and several cable channels, has a significant business front facing the new administration. The plan is to merge with Skydance Media. “President Trump’s complaints about CBS News have made it clear to executives at both companies that the review will be more difficult than expected and that concessions will likely have to be made to win approval,” a source familiar with the situation said.

Sources say incoming Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr issued a warning to Paramount executives to that effect at a reception held after the taped Kennedy Center awards ceremony in Washington late last year and repeated the message in a public speech.

Essentially, the incoming administration is trying to sway Paramount by promising to make it difficult to review the merger unless it gives Trump a victory in his frivolous lawsuit against CBS News.

It is sad that the former house of Murrow, Cronkite and Rather would even consider bowing to Trump.

No other American broadcast network has quite the news legacy of CBS News, and all that could be forever tarnished if its owners decide to bow to Trump.

The American people are watching the mainstream media give up power and censor itself. That’s exactly what Trump wants. Donald Trump doesn’t have to do anything to end free speech in America. Corporations and billionaire media owners are doing his dirty work for him.

The mainstream media has an agenda to please Trump. If so, they should be considered unreliable sources of truth and information.
