From top 3 strikers to confident struggles

Chelsea and the striker making a mistake – this is a match made in heaven and a story as old as time.

The great strikers we’ve had over the years – Didier Drogba, Diego Costa, Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink – have all been the exception rather than the rule. There was a lot of debris stuck in between.

Take a look at our efforts since Costa: Most of them shone brightly for a brief moment, but none of them could quite fill his boots. We have tried and failed many times, but the curse of the number 9 shirt still seems to linger heavily.

We’ve been very successful without a true successor, but I think it would be really useful to have one. One of the common issues over the past few years has been the lack of consistent scorers. This isn’t just about us. Most teams in the league are always looking for regular scorers. But for the billions of dollars we spent, the returns were significantly lower.

Just a few months ago, most of us were confident we had finally solved the problem. Nicholas Jackson has started the season strongBased on last year’s improvement, we really thought he had reached a new level.

By the end of November, reports from the club indicated that they were considering him as a player. The three best strikers in the Premier League.

He’s not a natural finisher, but his link-up play and off-the-ball effort seemed to compensate. And he was still scoring goals regularly. Even after the win over Brentford in mid-December, he still managed nine goals in 16 Premier League starts. This brings him to a 21-goal season without a penalty. it’s okay.

Let’s not forget, Drogba was never a prolific player, but his other qualities more than made up for it.

But since that game, he has recorded zero runs in five starts. His confidence seemed to have disappeared and his poor finishing skills were on full display. AI Image Generator He struggled to figure out how he twisted his form and missed that opportunity in Tuesday’s near-post performance against Bournemouth. It wasn’t an easy task, but with his lethal finishing ability, he was able to at least achieve his goal.

That mistake probably cost us two points. If you look at the other four games in this match, you’ll see more points slipping away from the attackers’ toes.

He can still be offered huge sums, but unless his finishing improves dramatically he will never join the elite list of strikers in the Chelsea history books.
