Two years ago, the New York Giants pulled off a huge upset of the Minnesota Vikings in the Twin Cities on the road in the playoffs.

It was the last game for them and they lost the very next game.

Still, it was an encouraging season, and some thought HC Brian Daboll might finally be able to get the most out of Daniel Jones.

Jones received a big salary and struggled greatly the following season, once again raising questions about his skills and prospects as a starter in this league.

That’s why Giants WR Darius Slayton believes his quarterback needs to start winning again for him to finally earn some respect around the league (via Giants Videos).

Speaking to the media, Slayton claimed that the narrative always changes depending on the team’s performance. Two years ago, people were saying the Giants needed to do the right thing by giving Jones more help.

With that in mind, he thinks the only way for people to respect him in this league is to win a few games.

Actually, he fits the bill perfectly.

His breakout season numbers were not impressive at all and would actually have put him down by some elite quarterbacks.

Still, the improvement was evident and he constantly found ways to lead his team to victory, which was the only factor that mattered.

Those who expected him to have similar growth and development as Daboll’s Josh Allen may no longer feel the same way, but at least he can still prove that he deserves to be their starter.
