‘Good mindset’ – Vasseur explains Ferrari’s approach to constructor’s battle after closing the gap in Austin

Speaking while appearing on TV F1 Nation On the podcast, Team Principal Vasseur was asked how he sees the Constructors’ Championship run heading into the final Grand Prix of the season. Austin kickstarted a triple header of races that also featured Mexico and Brazil.

“We are not thinking about the championship and we want to keep the team in this mood, because I think it is important to focus only on pure performance from session to session without having the championship in mind,” he explained.

“A week or two ago, everyone was talking about McLaren. Before that it was Mercedes and before that it was Red Bull. We have to approach it with some distance. We’ve never talked about these things because we know we still have a long way to go.

“If anything can come of it in the end, it will be more of a race day than an overall win coming up. We are perfectly aware that next week will be a completely different challenge.
