Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed after an airstrike struck his residence in Tehran.

There was an announcement on Press TV tonight.

“Haniyeh was the terrorist face of Hamas, a man who hung out with the ayatollahs and held court in luxury hotels in Qatar and Turkey. And yet he embezzled millions of dollars by smuggling goods into Gaza while the people were left destitute. Not even the IRGC could protect him,” Rep. Walz said.

Haniye and one of his bodyguards were killed in the strike.

Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were martyred after their residence in Tehran was attacked, according to a statement released by the IRGC.

“We express our condolences to the heroic Palestinian state, the Islamic State, the fighters of the Resistance Front, and the noble nation of Iran, as this morning (Wednesday) the residence of Dr. Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of the Islamic Resistance of Hamas, was attacked in Tehran, resulting in the martyrdom of him and one of his bodyguards,” the statement read.

Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Haniyeh is known for denouncing the death of Osama bin Laden.

Haniyeh was photographed at the inauguration of Iran’s new president this morning.

The Haniya airstrike came less than 24 hours after Israel killed a Hezbollah military commander in Lebanon.
