“It was great to see you, and I clearly remember the first time I attended the Belgian Grand Prix in 1996 at the age of 11 and met the Formula 1 drivers,” explained Hamilton.

“When I entered Formula 1, I don’t remember receiving a warm welcome from anyone but Nicky. [Lauda]But that person is a former driver. In fact, it wasn’t even Nikki at the time! I remember what it was like to be so young and have that experience, and how hard it was.
“Now I’m watching these two guys do some truly amazing things. I have both of them ahead of me at some point. He drives really well, doesn’t make mistakes, and is really talented. [they] They have a really bright future ahead of them.
