Plus, three reader comments:

Julie says in Have a Beautiful Week: “I was formally evaluated and diagnosed with autism at age 39 (my therapist shared the results this week), and I’m left wondering, ‘What do I do now?’ I’ve felt relief in gaining a deeper understanding of why things that come easy to others are difficult for me, but also saddened by the cost of completely ‘shedding my mask.’ Some Instagram accounts that have helped me learn and feel less alone: @iampayingattention, @CindyRobinsonllcand @christinedoyle.ie. And if anyone has any recommendations for Black or Indigenous autism/neurodiverse accounts, please share.”

Lynn tells me about my vacation confession: “My husband and I were on vacation in Miami this spring (without kids). One evening, as we were walking down the street after dinner, we passed a family of parents (in their mid-60s) and their adult children (in their early 20s). As we crossed the street, the son said, ‘Come enjoy this beautiful evening.’ And we laughed so hard. Oh my, it was endless, and eventually the kids would say the same thing their parents said.”

Kathryn had a wonderful week: “I loved it. My Lady Jane. It was fun, entertaining, and visually stunning. I found myself telling people about my friend Jo’s friend Gemma’s show. I felt a total sense of indirect pride in her. Well done, Gemma!”
