Payton signed a contract with Charlotte on February 7 and recorded an average of 2.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.0 thieves for 27.7 minutes with the team. Earlier this season, Payton appeared in the seven competitions of New Olians Pelicans (three starts), scoring 6.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.4 steels. He scored up to 21 assists in Indiana (November 25), with all players (22, Trae Young) the second largest game in the game.
