San Diego Comic Con Fans are always in for a surprise, and this year, they were treated to a special, unannounced screening of the film at the San Diego Convention Center’s famous Hall H. Deadpool & Wolverine!
Ryan Reynolds, hugh jackman, Emma Corrindirector Shawn Levy And the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige Comic-Con was rocked on Thursday when an audience of over 6,500 people revealed what was planned. Deadpool & Wolverine The panel discussion will also feature a special screening of the film itself.
“We traveled all over the world to make this movie,” Jackman told the excited audience. The Hollywood Reporter“But the most important thing is right here, right now!”
The event started out as a typical Comic-Con panel, with cast and creators chatting and reminiscing about old Comic-Con memories. But then a surprise was revealed midway through, sending the audience into a frenzy of excitement.
After the screening, a moved Reynolds and Jackman shared messages of love and gratitude for each other, and Levy and Feige credit the unlikely pairing with bringing it to life on the big screen.
But to make the surprise even more exciting, we invited some special friends on stage for a spoiler-filled Comic-Con cameo.
Joining the stars are Dafne Keen, Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, Wesley Snipes and Chris Evans, just a few of the many celebrities who are making unexpected and highly-rumored appearances in the currently-in-progress epic action film. It’s expected to have the biggest opening weekend ever for an R-rated film..
One particularly notable moment between Reynolds and Snipes was the pair’s famously contentious relationship when they appeared together. Blade Trinity. They appear to have succeeded in rekindling their working relationship and friendship over the past 20 years.
The surprise screening came just hours after Reynolds, Jackman, Corwin, Evans and Levy arrived in Los Angeles for an event with Marvel Studios president Feige. An award ceremony that features a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
ET spoke with Feige at the star-studded awards show.And he reflected on the management of the great. Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I’ve always dreamed and dreamed about Marvel, the journey of the highest highs, some lows, and then back to the highest highs again,” Feige, 51, shared. “It’s a journey! And it’s a journey with everyone who’s with me today.”
When asked who his favorite of the many beloved Marvel characters is, Feige replied, “There are so many!”
“I mean, being here with Hugh today, starting from his first audition, X-men 1 25 years ago tonight, I open for him Deadpool & Wolverine“He’s had an incredible journey,” Feige shared. “Chris Evans, who’s here today, and what he’s done with the Cap character. The First Avenger to Final stageI love them all.”
“And of course Tony Stark, and Robert [Downey Jr.] “I’ve worked with Jon Favreau,” he added.[They] “He helped create the entire MCU and really get it off the ground.”
Long awaited Deadpool & Wolverine It opens on Friday, July 27th.
