Former Roma player Vincent Candela has commented on Roma’s busy summer ahead of next season.

In an interview with Il Corriere della SeraCandela shared his thoughts on what Roma needs to do this offseason to further develop the team.

“I have confidence in Gisolfi’s abilities,” the former France player said. “But it’s not just him. De Rossi ensures his first thoughts about Rome, but that hasn’t always been the case in the past.”

“There are a lot of expectations for Gisolfi, but the foundation has been laid by the company, sports director and coaches.”

“It’s important to cooperate, to think of Rome’s interests, not your own. That hasn’t always happened recently because everyone has their own interests in mind.”

“I expect Daniel, Gisolfi, and the company to know how to manage their money. De Rossi would have made the request and many would have left. I wonder who we will bet on.”

“The most important players to recruit are center forward and central defender. I expect them to get it as soon as possible. A center forward has to guarantee 20 goals, and someone like Icardi is guaranteed.”

“I hope Gisolfi can sign a young 19-year-old who is ready to play in the Italian Championship. I don’t expect Leao, but I expect he will find a new Leao.”

“It will be complicated to field all the unwanted players, but the mistakes of previous managers will have to be corrected. As players get older, it becomes more difficult to place them. But from an economic point of view, you have to do it even if it means losing something.”
