How to Make Iced Coffee
In a large pitcher, mix water (cold or lukewarm) and ground coffee.
Stir the mixture and let it sit for about 8 hours. I usually mix this up before bed and leave it in the fridge overnight. Once set, strain the coffee through a coffee filter or cheesecloth and fine mesh strainer.
This will take a few minutes; this is normal. I usually start the straining process after I wake up, and check in with my (infant) son after I’ve already prepped myself (approximately 30-45 minutes later).
Your iced coffee base is now complete. This size typically lasts from a few days to up to a week.
Fill the glass with ice and pour in the chilled iced coffee. I like it plain or with a few spoonfuls of cream.
You can even freeze some of your iced coffee into ice cubes to use in future batches for a more red-eye version of coffee.
