Ime Udoka to James Harden: ‘You want to win, but we’re not there yet’

Norman Powell on James Harden: And then there’s the interest in his body. I see him working out, getting therapy, and speaking up about what he needs. After the game, he’s doing everything he can to make sure he’s ready to lead and play every night. I think that was the biggest thing. Even in the locker room (before the game, during the game, at halftime), he talks about what we need to do, what adjustments we need to make, and gets everyone’s attention on those tough nights when we miss a game or get screwed. He was truly amazing. What we need is to see that side of the person. When you are an opposing player, you don’t really know what’s going on behind the scenes. The articles and stories about him leaving Philly only tell one side of the story. But being in the locker room with him and talking to him (our lockers are right next to each other), I saw the other side. There’s a lot of conversation about the game, his approach and what we need to do. He is a great friend and a great teammate. It was an honor to play on the court with him and learn from someone who has accomplished so much in this league.” – through youtube / December 11, 2024
