First Test Summary

In a match that saw India dominate, Ravichandran Ashwin emerged as the standout performer. The veteran spinner completed a stunning all-round performance, picking up six wickets to help Bangladesh crush the second innings by just 234 runs. Bangladesh, who had set a mammoth target of 515 runs, struggled against Ashwin’s bowling, who finished with figures of 6/88.

Ashwin’s performance was particularly significant given his maiden innings century, which was instrumental in setting up India’s strong total. The Indian bowlers took advantage of the favourable conditions and Ashwin’s ability to use the pitch was crucial.

Apart from Ashwin’s heroics, batsmen Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill also made notable contributions, both scoring centuries in the second innings. Jasprit Bumrah shined with the ball in the first innings, taking four wickets to send Bangladesh to 149 runs, giving India a massive lead of 227 runs.
