Jack White I am following his warning. Donald Trump …filed a lawsuit over his famous song, claiming the former president was hijacking his country.
The White Stripes singer is suing Trump and his campaign for using the song “Seven Nation Army” in a social media video showing Trump boarding a plane during the campaign.
In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Jack claims he did not have permission from the Trump campaign to use the song, and that Trump and his camp should have known better, given Jack has publicly criticized Trump in the past.
Jack claims Trump used the song without permission in 2016 as well, but this time he sounds more upset.
Jack said any association with Trump was “more offensive.” Jack and his ex-wife Meg WhiteI vehemently oppose Trump’s policies and actions… both what he has done during his presidency and what he proposes to do if he wins a second term in November.
Waiting for permission to load Instagram media.
Jack takes a stance on the lawsuit… he says Trump should have known not to use ‘7NA’ because he is “a sophisticated and successful businessman with decades of experience in the entertainment industry (and, of course, has faced numerous copyright claims from musicians who have used his work without permission).”
Jack claims Trump is infringing on his copyright and is asking the court to block Trump from using the song, as well as seek damages.
We’ve reached out to the Trump campaign but have yet to hear back.
