The 2024 NFL season will be a big one for the Jacksonville Jaguars as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2023 season.

The Jaguars got off to a strong start last season but struggled towards the end and failed to make the playoffs.

Jacksonville had to make some changes to its roster, and it did so by adding several players to both teams.

Offensively, it all starts with quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who received a big-money extension in the offseason.

Defensively, there are questions about the secondary, but Jacksonville expects the unit to improve.

Unfortunately, the Jaguars will likely be without safety Daniel Thomas, who was demoted to out for their Week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins.

“Jaguars safety Daniel Thomas has been demoted to out and will not travel with the team for tomorrow’s game against the Dolphins in Miami. To take his place, [Jacksonville] “Veteran practice squad safety Terrell Edmonds has been placed on the active roster,” NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe wrote on X.

Thomas suffered an Achilles injury during training camp and recently returned to limited activity.

Jaguars coach Doug Pederson seemed optimistic that Thomas would be available for the game against the Dolphins, but the team appears to have decided to give him additional rest and recovery time.

Miami can score quickly with an explosive offense led by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, so Jacksonville may have to work to catch up early.
