A chronic shoulder injury will rule Ons Javert out for the 2024 season.

Javert, who has reached the Wimbledon final twice and the 2022 US Open final, has been struggling with shoulder pain.

TN Q&A: Roger Federer on RF Collection and Best Match

Javert has played just 11 matches since reaching the quarter-finals of Roland Garros in June, recording a record of six wins and five losses in that period.

“This has been a very difficult year for me and as athletes we know that recovery is part of the journey,” Jabeur said in a social media post. “Due to my shoulder injury, my medical team and I have made the difficult decision to step away from the tennis circuit until the end of the season.

“While I am taking time to recover, I will dedicate myself to charity work and work to ensure that we can make a real difference in the world.”

The former world number two and currently ranked 22nd, is targeting a return to the court next season in time for the 2025 Australian Open.
