Jeff Ulbrich, who served as interim head coach of the Jets for the final 12 games of the 2024 season, has a new position.
that The Falcons are hiring Ulbrich as their defensive coordinator..
Ulbrich has been with the Jets since 2021.
He served as defensive coordinator under coach Robert Saleh and was selected by owner Woody Johnson to replace Saleh on an interim basis when he fired Saleh in October.
Ulbrich’s time as interim coach did not go as he or Johnson had hoped.
The team went 3-9 under Ulbrich and missed the playoffs for 14 consecutive seasons.
Ulbrich, 47, has experience playing for the Falcons.

He was the linebackers coach there from 2015 to 2020 and was interim defensive coordinator in 2020 after Dan Quinn was fired as head coach and current Falcons coach Raheem Morris was named interim coach.
The Jets interviewed Ulbrich for a full-time head coaching start on Monday, but he was considered a long way from landing the job after the 2024 season.
