Jennifer Lopez You might know what the “orange drink” is, but no one else does… so the singer finally had to explain it to the world… capping a viral trend about her old bodega order.
J Lo sets the record straight in the following interview. Harper’s BazaarAlthough she confessed that she doesn’t have a brand name for the now-popular beverage she mysteriously mentioned in a Vogue interview a year ago, she went into great detail about it.
says Jen. “It was just a regular orange drink. It came in a small plastic container with a little bit of aluminum foil on it. And they only called it orange drink or grape drink. It had oranges, grapes, and fruit punch.”
Some have suggested she was referring to the Quarter Water drink, which was a staple of 20th-century childhood. In any case, it certainly matches the explanation she proposed.
In her ’73 Questions’ interview with Vouge, Jenn quipped, “If you know, you know.” But her joke after that…no one knew and many accused her of making it up.
She explained it at the time: “I used to go and buy it after school… I mean, it used to be a long, long time ago when it was worth 25 cents and I bought it with a bag of potato chips. And it was like a present for myself after school.”
Boomers and Millennials know what J Lo is talking about, but Gen Z had a field day with her answer. Jenny seems to be trying to seem relatable and real on social media.
Jen said she saw the fuss over her “orange drink” and laughed because “there was a lot of talk.” Honestly, there are a lot more fish to fry these days. Ben Affleck –But this aside, it’s funny.
