Jets’ Robert Saleh retracts Aaron Rodgers’ cadence offer.

Robert Saleh walked back from his comments that the Jets may need to look into Aaron Rodgers’ famous flow after a flurry of offensive pre-snap penalties in Sunday’s loss to the Broncos.

Rodgers didn’t seem to like even that suggestion and said the team should instead hold players accountable for such mistakes.

A day later, Saleh said there was a difference between the “cadence” and the “operations” of the attack.

“We will always push the envelope with cadence. Always,” Saleh said in a video conference with reporters. “But in terms of operations, getting in and out of the huddle, getting to the line of scrimmage, the communication that’s going on, those are all things that we can continue to look at and organize.

“But in terms of cadence, it’s part of what makes us who we are and we will always continue to strive to push the envelope.”

When asked about reducing his cadence on Sunday, Rodgers said: “That’s one way to do it. The other way is to hold them accountable.”

The message appears to have reached Saleh.
