Jimmy Butler doesn’t want to leave the heat

In a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show, the topic of Jimmy Butler’s future came up. NBA insider Shams Charania provided insight into where Butler and the Miami Heat stand.

“My guess is Jimmy Butler doesn’t want to be anywhere but Miami,” Charania told Pat McAfee. “It makes sense that he likes what he’s doing in Miami. But again, he’s eligible for an extension this year. There are several teams that would give him an extension, and I think we’ll see how that plays out in the next game. The Heat don’t want to trade him, that’s the question.

Butler reportedly wants a two-year extension worth more than $112 million. It’s unclear whether the Heat will offer that amount for the veteran wing. There were rumors that the Philadelphia 76ers were interested in reuniting with Butler via trade and eventual extension. Philadelphia projects to have more than $60 million in cap space this offseason.
