“It was kind of a no-brainer, but it was also a profound decision for me because I’m not usually an open book, no pun intended,” he explained. “I learned a lot about myself in the process of writing this, about all aspects of it, from the personal to my career to my family.”

“I love failure because it gives me a stepping stone to success. Don’t let others force you to give up yourself. “I have always been uncomfortable and ashamed of my excess weight,” Gad writes in the book. By 2007, Hollywood was putting him in the “loud fat best friend” box when it came to casting. He worried this would continue throughout his career.
“It’s always in the background,” he admitted. us. “I want to discuss issues like weight issues. “It’s so disappointing because you imagine someone will be there forever. I had so many plans to talk to him. We were talking less and less. I probably saw him a year before he passed away,” Gad remembered. “I could tell he was down. He didn’t look very energetic, but he had no idea what was going on. I didn’t want to burden him with any conversation about myself. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to hear his story about how he inspired me. That’s what I told him personally.”
