Junior Women
Emerson Jones remains Australia’s top-ranked player in the latest rankings. ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Women’s RankingsHe achieved a career-best finish, rising to world number two.
The 16-year-old from the Gold Coast, who reached the women’s singles finals at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon this season, is not the only promising Australian teenager to make a mark on the world stage.
Rene Alame climbed to a career-high world number 118 this week. The 15-year-old from Sydney recently reached the singles final at the NSW Junior Open, improving her season record on the ITF World Junior Tour from 38 to 30 wins.
Thalia Kokkinis has won 16 of her last 17 matches on the ITF Junior World Tour, including three titles last month, which has seen the 16-year-old from Brisbane rise to a career-high world number 141.
Gisele Sivai makes her debut in the Australian top 10 this week. The 14-year-old from Sydney has jumped 61 places to a career-high world number 208 after reaching the semi-finals of the NSW Junior Open.

Junior Men
Cruz Hewitt recently took another step closer to breaking into the Top 100. ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Men’s Rankings.
After winning two ITF titles in Sydney, the 15-year-old Hewitt climbed 48 places to a career-high world ranking of No. 117, making him the ninth-highest-ranked boy in the world for the year of his birth in 2008.
Ty Host, who finished second to Hewitt at last week’s NSW Junior Open, also set a new career-best. The 17-year-old moved up 26 places to No. 68 in the world rankings. That puts him ahead of last year’s NSW Junior Open champion Pavle Marinkov to become the new No. 2 Australian.

Junior Wheelchair
Australia currently has six players ranked in the world’s top 20. ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour Junior Men’s Rankings.
Gene Woodman, 15, from Melbourne, is currently ranked fourth in the world and will be competing alongside top-10 finishers Yassin Hill and Benjamin Wenzel at the US Open Junior Wheelchair Championships in New York in a few weeks.
Australia’s Isla Gillespie, currently ranked world number 10 on the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour Junior Women’s Rankings, is also set to make her Grand Slam debut at Flushing Meadows.
