The Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs have started the 2024 NFL season on a perfect two-game winning streak, and Patrick Mahomes and his team are poised to make NFL history by winning their third consecutive Super Bowl title.

However, the Chiefs have not been as good as expected early on, struggling against the Baltimore Ravens in the season opener and the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.

Two weeks into the 2024 season, the Chiefs have struggled in every aspect of their game, and Kansas City has suffered a huge loss on offense to the Bengals, with star running back Isaiah Pacheco out for the next six to eight weeks with an injury.

With Pacheco out for roughly two months after failing to score a touchdown in the two games he has played, and having thrown for 189 yards and a touchdown from scrimmage in two games, the Chiefs quickly pivoted to veteran running back Kareem Hunt as a very likely option, according to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz.

Hunt played the first two years of his NFL career with the Chiefs, and got off to a good start, earning a Pro Bowl selection during his rookie season in 2017.

However, off-field events led the Chiefs to cut ties with the talented running back, who signed with the Cleveland Browns for the past five seasons.

Despite the failure of superstar running back Nick Chubb to return healthy to start the 2024 season, the Browns decided not to bring Hunt back, giving Hunt a second chance with the Chiefs to fill the void left by Pacheco.
