The Premier League had another drama Saturday, with 22 goals and five red cards in seven games.

Leicester City beat Southampton from a two-goal deficit, while 10-man Arsenal suffered their first defeat of the season at Bournemouth.

Tottenham returned to their winning ways in convincing fashion, while Aston Villa, Everton and Brighton recorded impressive wins.

Read the recap below to find out what happened in the top flight.

Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

After scoring three goals in eight minutes in the second half, Tottenham secured bragging rights in the London derby with a comfortable win over West Ham.

Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma, own goal and returning Son Heung-min gave Tottenham victory with performance manager Anjou Postekoglou calling them ‘outstanding’.

Mohamed Kudus, who had given the Hammers the lead early in the contest, was sent off late on, ending a miserable afternoon for Julen Lopetegui’s side.

Manchester United 2-1 Brentford

Manager Erik ten Hag remains under pressure at Manchester United, but a win over Brentford could extend his stay.

It looked like it was going to be a difficult afternoon for United at Old Trafford as Ethan Pinnock struck for Brentford in the dying moments of the game.

However, Ten Hag’s team succeeded in changing the direction of the game through Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

With this win, United moved up to 11th place in the league, while Brentford moved up to 13th place.

Fulham 1-3 Aston Villa

Both teams finished the match with 10 men as Aston Villa recorded their best start to a Premier League season after eight games in 25 years.

Goals from Raul Jimenez and Morgan Rodgers came in the first 10 minutes, before Villa demolished Fulham in the second half through own goals from Olly Watkins and Issa Diop.

This was Fulham’s first loss at home, and Villa’s win kept them in fourth place, level on points with Arsenal.

Newcastle 0-1 Brighton

Brighton continued their good start under new manager Fabian Hurzeler with an impressive 1-0 win away to Newcastle.

Danny Welbeck scored the only goal of the game 10 minutes before the break, but the 33-year-old striker had to be stretchered off after grabbing his lower back following a routine aerial attack on Fabian Schaer.

The win lifted Brighton to fifth in the table, while Eddie Howe’s Newcastle dropped to eighth.

Southampton 2-3 Leicester

Arguably, Match of the Day saw Leicester inflict more misery on struggling Southampton as they overturned a two-goal deficit and snatched all three points from St Mary’s.

Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo gave the hosts the lead after half an hour, but a late goal from Facundo Buonanotte, a penalty from Jamie Vardy and a 98th-minute winner from Jordan Ayew gave the visitors victory.

Ryan Fraser was sent off for Southampton with 15 minutes remaining.

Ipswich Town 0-2 Everton

Everton secured a vital three points against newly promoted Ipswich thanks to first-half goals from Iliman Ndiaye and Michael Keane.

Ipswich had their penalty shootout decision overturned by VAR with the game 1-0 up before Keane doubled the Toffees’ lead with a thunderous left-foot strike.

The win moves Everton five points above the drop zone.

Bournemouth 2-0 Arsenal

Bournemouth beat Arsenal for just the second time in Premier League history, ending the Gunners’ unbeaten start to the season.

William Saliba was sent off midway through the first half as Mikel Arteta had to contend with becoming only the third player to be brought down in eight games.

Bournemouth eventually took the lead through goals from substitutes Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert after Gabriel Martinelli wasted a glorious chance to give the visitors the lead.

In the battle of Basque coaches, it was Andoni Iraola who came out on top with a famous victory at the Vitality Stadium.
