While appearing on a recent broadcast, risky business In the podcast, he accused pollsters of cheating and putting their finger on the scales to make the race look closer than it is.

He says the race has drifted increasingly toward Trump over a long period of time, noting that Harris has regularly lost ground.

Are pollsters popular? Nate Silver says he’s ‘misleading the public’ about the 2024 presidential election.

Polling expert Nate Silver has accused other pollsters of manipulating poll results ahead of the 2024 presidential election. He accused them of recycling past results to keep the race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris looking close. Silver, founder of FiveThirtyEight, called on pollsters to “get their numbers together” and specifically mentioned Emerson College in his criticism.

“I have less trust in the pollsters,” Silver said on his weekly podcast, Risky Business with Nate Silver and Maria Konnikova. “They all come out every time the pollsters come out. [says] ‘Oh, every state is just plus one, every state is a tie.’ no! You are grazing! You are cheating! You are cheating!”

Silver’s own model shows that Trump leads Harris by 55% to 45% as the election approaches. He expressed frustration with what appears to be a consistently tight race, claiming pollsters are trying to keep a low profile. “When you sample 800 people across dozens of surveys, your numbers aren’t going to all come from exactly one spot,” he said. You are lying! You’re putting your finger on the scale!”
