unexpected life It debuted in January 2010 and follows teenager Lux as she seeks liberation from the Portland foster care system. Her path led her to discover the identity of her biological parents, Nate “Baze” Bazile (Polaha) and Cate Cassidy (Appleby), who placed her in the system after her teenage pregnancy and subsequent breakup. Instead of being liberated, Lux was taken into joint custody. The show was eventually canceled after its second season.
Creator: “I was really surprised” Liz Tigellar said Los Angeles Times January 2011. “I always thought we would move on and get to the endgame where Cate and Baze eventually find their way together to some extent.”
