Manchester United considering the possibility of signing Gonzalo Inacio – Manchester United News and Transfer News

The transfer window is almost here but Manchester United fans have no idea who will be leading the business this summer.

Prior to the FA Cup final, there were rumors about how INEOS had decided on ‘Dead Man Walking’ Erik Ten Hag, who was set to be sent off at Old Trafford regardless of his score at full-time at Wembley.

More than a week after Manchester United’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester City, INEOS’ end-of-season review appears to still be ongoing. Despite this, the Red Devils had little influence on the rumors as they found their name linked to a number of stars.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared his insight into United’s transfer wishlist, revealing the Premier League side are planning to add a new right-footed centre-back once their management situation is resolved.

Furthermore, the Italian journalist believes United are “actively working” on the possibility of signing another defender, the left-footed centre-back.

Portugal international Gonzalo Inacio (22) is also one of the defenders they are keeping an eye on.

“It’s not guaranteed yet, but it’s something we’re discussing internally,” Romano said.

“He has a release clause of around €60m.

“Gonzalo Inacio is being scouted and monitored by Liverpool and Manchester United, with both clubs showing interest in him.

“[It] This could be a really interesting situation ahead of the summer transfer window. “Watch the situation carefully.”

In recent seasons, Inacio has caught the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs with his impeccable technique, calmness in possession and athletic ability to defend wide areas. Along with Manchester United, Liverpool is also interested in him.

In Lisandro Martinez, the Red Devils have one of the best left-backs in Europe.

However, his worrying injury record over the last two seasons has made the need for a strong backup option even greater. In his absence, Ten Hag’s team continued to struggle to build at the back.

But charging a fee of around €60m for Martinez’s understudy may be a luxury INEOS cannot afford due to Financial Fair Play rules.
