Manchester United to make structural changes to Old Trafford to boost club revenue – Man Utd News & Transfer News

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United have made significant changes to Old Trafford in a bid to boost the club’s revenue this season.

According to newspaperUnited have increased the seating capacity in some areas of their iconic home stadium.

This will help the club attract more match attendance and generate more revenue in the process.

The Mail noted: “Old Trafford’s capacity has been hit by a rare surge as Manchester United look to boost revenue.”

“As part of the previous plan, the entrance to the stadium scoreboard side was widened to provide an expanded platform for fans using wheelchairs.”

“However, after consultation with supporters, the plans were changed, resulting in dozens of new seats being reinstalled in one of the affected areas.”

Mike Keegan explained that since Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed his partial investment in the Red Devils in February this year, there has been a drive to not only implement austerity measures but also find ways to boost profits.

Ratcliffe and INEOS are understood to want United to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, which have led to their actions, some of which have proven deeply unpopular within the club and with fans.

According to a recent report by The Peoples Person, United have canceled providing packed lunches to their staff on match days.

The Red Devils have also cut the number of programs available to corporate fans in half.

The latest changes to Old Trafford come as United’s owners consider their options for how to run the stadium.

The two main options currently under consideration are renovating Old Trafford or building a completely new, state-of-the-art stadium, with a final decision expected before the end of the year.
