I won’t indent it twice. Mark is:

“The Prime Minister of the Bahamas recently said: speech It’s about revitalizing Grand Bahama. He pointed to Freeport’s holding company, Intercontinental Diversified Corporation, for selling various portions of its assets without reinvesting them in the current owners. He wants a world-class partner to develop Grand Bahama. Half of his cabinet attended the speech in person. This is the strongest position a prime minister has taken on Grand Bahama in 50 years.

There’s some additional background on this here. grand bahamas and Freeport. With two years remaining in his term as prime minister, he has made revitalizing Grand Bahama’s growth his political legacy. Some key facts about Freeport

  • Over 70,000 acres of developable land under the Grand Bahama Development Company.
  • Infrastructure to support 250,000 residents, current population is 50,000.
  • 25 minute flight to Miami
  • The existing legal framework for charter cities has been eroded over time, although some of the rights of the city’s government, the Grand Bahama Port Authority, have been eroded over time.

I hope this is interesting enough to be featured on the blog and I would appreciate a shout out. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to answer them.”
