Wards Auto has released light vehicle sales estimates for May. U.S. light vehicle sales could continue in 2024 and continue the slow, steady growth trend (Paid site).

Further confirming the theme for 2024, growth in May was primarily concentrated in the most affordable CUVs and car segments. In the first five months of 2024, other segments posted sporadic gains or steady declines, including some, such as full-size pickups, which have enjoyed extended strength. The market strength so far in 2024 is more affordable small and midsize CUVs and compact sedans.
