MENA Karting Championship Nations Cup 2024 concludes in style

The eyes of the motorsport world are on Qatar this week as the Qatar Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) hosts the 2024 MENA Kart Championship Nations Cup for the second time at the Lusail International Circuit (LIC).

Held from 19 to 21 December, the championship featured regional talent and racing action and attracted more than 150 drivers from 16 countries across the Middle East and North Africa region.

Celebrating the success of the championship, FIA President and Nations Cup founder Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “The MENA Kart Nations Cup is an opportunity to showcase the best of our region. This brings global attention to MENA motorsport while giving young talent the honor of representing their country.

“Congratulations to all competitors. This week’s racing was exemplary. This was an important step in their motorsport journey. With winners represented across our region, it is clear that the future of MENA motorsport is bright.

“We would like to thank QMMF Chairman Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai for organizing a successful event along with the volunteers, staff and officials who devoted their time and effort.”

A lively closing ceremony saw the titles awarded to the champions, and in recognition of their outstanding performance and skills throughout the championship, three teams were awarded the “MENA Nations Cup” honors, with Lebanon in first place, Morocco in second place and the UAE in third place. occupied.

The final results for each category are as follows:

Micro Max: The UAE dominated the category with Ava Lawrence and Atiqa Asif Mir taking first and second place with times of 17 minutes 39.551 seconds and 17 minutes 40.738 seconds respectively. Morocco’s Nahyl El Gahoudi took third place with a time of 17 minutes, 43.383 seconds.

Mini Max: UAE’s Faris Haroun took first place with a time of 16 minutes 56.733 seconds. He was followed by Joe Morad of Lebanon in second place (16 minutes 59.712 seconds) and Saif Al Obaidli of Qatar in third place (17 minutes 05.162 seconds).

R390 Sprint: Lebanon dominated this category with Mathias Ndjeim (Lebanon) and Jad Al Awar (Lebanon) securing first and second places with times of 19:51.620 and 19:55.099, respectively. Morocco’s Mahdi Kadri took third place with a time of 19 minutes 55.272 seconds.
