Hello everyone, happy Friday. The internationals have started and here are the Arsenal matches I have looked at so far.
Ghana 0-1 Angola: Thomas Partey played the full 90 minutes as Ghana lost to a stoppage-time goal in their Confederation of African Football (AUF) qualifier.
Scotland 2-3 Poland: I saw Jakub Kiwior come off at halftime in this game and was worried that it was another injury. But a quick search of his name on social media and a translation tool shows that he was brought off because he wasn’t playing well. I don’t know exactly what ‘disaster’ and ‘totally screwed’ mean in Polish, but that’s what they say.
Serbia 0-0 Spain: David Raya scored all 90 points in this match.
William Saliba could feature against Italy later today and could face new teammate Riccardo Calafiori. Captain Martin Odegaard will be in Kazakhstan with Norway, while Gabriel could feature for Brazil well past midnight when they face Ecuador.
We pray for all the players to have a good game, free from pain, sprains, strains or twists, and full of energy and a strong desire to win the North London Derby.
Other than that, not much is going on, but I saw some talk about former young catcher Gedion Zelalem. Termination of contract with Den BoschAnd now he is a free agent at the age of 27. He has made four appearances for Arsenal, including in the Champions League. That was on 9 December 2014, when he came on as a half-time substitute for Mathieu Flamini in a 4-1 away win over Galatasaray.
It’s crazy that that was almost 10 years ago. We had Emmy Martinez, a very young Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Alex Iwobi on the bench, and a youngster called Stephen O’Connor made his only appearance for the club when he came on for Mathieu Debuchy with 15 minutes remaining. It was also a night when Aaron Ramsey scored one of the most aesthetically pleasing goals I’ve ever seen.

That kind of reaction is also really good.
Anyway, good luck to Gedion Zelalem in finding a new club. Sometimes I wonder what Arturo Lupoli is up to these days. I know he has all the information in the world at his fingertips, but I decided not to look for him. He can do anything, and the fact that he exists means that I don’t want to break the fact that he is now a coach for a team in Serie C, or that he runs an import/export company that supplies the best olive oil to restaurants all over Italy.
There’s a potential for something magical there if I just don’t look, so I don’t look.
That’s all for today. If you need something to listen to on Interlull Friday, here’s a new Arsecast. Enjoy and have a great day.
