AUSTIN, Texas (CelebrityAccess) — Country singer Miranda Lambert gave fans a sneak peek of her upcoming album with a surprise performance at Austin’s legendary Stubb’s BBQ on Friday.

Advertisements were placed only on large billboards outside the venue, and fans were surprised to see the message “Miranda Lambert performs tonight at 6pm,” but the venue was reportedly sold out by noon, according to publicists.

Lambert’s concert comes nearly 20 years to the day since she graced the venue’s stage with her first label showcase on August 28, 2024.

“I have a new album out, and I have the same fire that I had at that show 20 years ago,” the woman who Esquire called “consistent but never predictable” and Rolling Stone called “country’s most ambitious artist” added onstage, “I love honky tonk. It’s how I was raised. It’s in my DNA.”

The album is set for retail and streaming release via Republic Records on September 13, and is also a tribute to Lambert’s home state of Texas.
